Welcome to our new section on Community Profiles. Below you can read or download the ‘Somerset Quilt’. This is a summary document which highlights, in grid form, the relative strengths and weaknesses within the county, based on key measures representing the six aims of the Somerset Sustainable Community Strategy.

We have also produced more detailed profiles which present a more holistic and descriptive picture of our communities and which make comparisons with regional and national averages.  These profiles focus on areas defined by a range of different geographies within Somerset, including the collection of the most deprived parts of Somerset, the areas served by district councils, Local Service Teams, the largest towns and some Sure Start Children’s Centres.
